Tires?!!!!

My friend recently drove up the sidewalk and slashed a slice off her relatively brand new front left tire. She was worried she would need to replace it before the tire ‘popped’ in the heat of the summer in Las Vegas, even though it was not leaking air just yet..

Tires are made up of layers, and so are pretty strong.

In this case, only a small piece had “pinched” off, it was only in the casing which mean it did NOT hurt the integrity of the tire – as far as I could tell. Then again, I would not recommend replacing just one tire on any car. Finding one tire for replacement – that has had exactly the same mileage, on the same brand, in the same conditions would be almost impossible.

I am not sure if this scare will keep her from trying to apex corers as closely or not but she didn’t have to spend $200 on a new tire!!! All is well. I am SURE she will go shopping with her savings!!!
